Charlotte A. Hagedorn, age 79, of Carroll passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the Carroll Health Center Nursing Home in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Schott as celebrant. Lector for the Mass will be Jim Uhlenkamp. Gift bearers will be Hannah Condon, Amanda Arterburn, Katherine Uhlenkamp, and Charlotte Wathen. Casket bearers will be Jim Maystadt, Ryan Ennis, Michael Wathen, Zachary Hagedorn, Jacob Hagedorn, and Claire Hagedorn. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll on Tuesday after 3:30 P.M., where there will be a Rosary at 4:00 P.M. and a Christian Wake Service held at 6:30 P.M. by St. Lawrence Parish. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:00 A.M. on Wednesday, where visitation will resume until the time of service. Born on April 23, 1932, at Carroll, Iowa, she was the daughter of John and Arlowine (Arts) Lambert. She grew up in Carroll and graduated from St. Angela’s Academy in 1950. She then attended Briar Cliff College in Sioux City and then attended Iowa State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in home economics in 1954. She was married to Donald R. Hagedorn on October 16, 1954 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Carroll by Fr. Lenz. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Charlotte enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, reading, golfing, and spending time with her family and friends. Charlotte is survived by her husband Don of Carroll; four daughters: Mary Wathen and her husband Rick of State Center, Iowa, Ann Condon and her husband Scott of Carbondale, Colorado, Jane Uhlenkamp and her husband Jim of Mt. Ayr, Iowa, and Jenny McGuane and her husband Mike of Omaha, Nebraska; two sons: Don Hagedorn and his wife Lori of Carroll, and Dr. David Hagedorn and his wife Stacy of Webster City, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; three half brothers: Robert Jenkins and his wife Carmen of Deerfield, Wisconsin, Rick Jenkins and his wife Donna of Memphis, Tennessee, and Kevin Jenkins and his wife Margie of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a half sister Debbie Agee and her husband Larry of Virginia; two sisters-in-law Barbara Stepanek of Delaware, and Shirley Lambert of Sioux City, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Thomas Lambert, and a sister, Jacquie Maystadt, and a brother-in-law Mike Maystadt.
