Charlotte Eissens, age 85, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll with Rev. Dennis Bailey officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday where there will be a prayer service held at 7:00 P.M. Music for the service will be by Ellen Severin, Nancy Davis, and Jake Gute. Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, Illinois. Casket bearers will be Charlotte’s grandchildren.
Born on June 5, 1928 in Mt. Carroll, Illinois, she was the daughter of Tyrrell and Harriet (Sack) Davis. She graduated from Mt. Carroll High School in 1946 and then went to cosmetology school in Rockford, Illinois. Charlotte worked as a beautician in Morrison, Illinois, for a short time. She was married to Gerald Jay Eissens on September 2, 1950 in Sterling, Illinios. The couple moved to California in 1951 while Gerry served in the United States Army. They moved back to Morrison in 1953 where they raised their family. The Eissens moved to Carroll in the summer of 1973 with General Electric. Charlotte was a member of First United Methodist Church in Carroll. She enjoyed cooking, music, keeping in touch with her friends from Illinois, and being a Good Samaritan. Charlotte was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friends. Charlotte is survived by her three daughters: Pamela Stolley of Fulton, Illinois, Janet MacDonald and her husband David of Two Harbors, Minnesota, and Tammie McKenzie and her husband Dan of Carroll; two sons: Jerry Eissens and his wife Cheri of Kennewick, Washington, and Andrew Eissens of Carroll; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister Sharon Rasmussen and her husband Gary of Carroll; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1998, a brother Tyrrell Jr., a son-in-law Robert Stolley; and a son Todd in infancy.
