Charles Turner, age 62, of Carroll passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
A Celebration of Charlie’s Life will be held from 1 – 3 P.M. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in the activities building at New Hope Village. Arrangements are entrusted to the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home of Carroll.
Born on January 20, 1957 in Butler County, IA, he was the son of Mary Margaret Turner. Charlie as he was known to most lived at Woodward State Hospital School until he was 31 years old when he moved to Oakridge Cottage at New Hope Village in Carroll. Charlie had a charismatic and loving personality. He was very actively engaged in all that New Hope had to offer. Charlie enjoyed working in the shop, ceramics, vocational education, and spending time with his friends and New Hope family.
He was survived by his friends and family at New Hope Village and his guardian Sam Smith. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Margaret Turner Fetters in 1985 and a half-brother who was killed in the Korean Conflict.
