Charles Jones

Charles Jones Jr., age 81, of Glidden, Iowa, passed away at his residence on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Born on October 18, 1930, at Carroll, Iowa, he was the son of Charels E. and Jessie (Hunter) Jones. Charles was a lifelong resident of Glidden. Following school he enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean war. Charlie worked for Boomsmas Egg Plant in Glidden for several years and Mc Naught’s Grocery Store. He loved sports and was an avid New York Yankee’s fan and he enjoyed watching westerns. Charlie is survived by a niece Rebecca Gregory of Smyrna, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Rosemary Gregory. Graveside services will be held at the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery at a later date with military honors conducted by the Glidden American Legion.
