Cecile Andersen

Cecile Ann (Scheldorf) Andersen, age 90, of Arcadia passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Regency Park in Carroll. Born on August 29, 1925 in Carroll, she was the daughter of Gus and Anna (Hansen) Sheldorf. She grew up in Arcadia where she graduated from high school in 1943. Cecile was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia. Her father passed away when she was very young. She was a homemaker and worked at the Johnston’s Caffe in Carroll and the Henry Field Seed and Nursery in Shenandoah. Cecile was married to William Andersen on May 12, 1944 at Wheatland Presbyterian Church. The couple lived in Arcadia, Tucson, AZ, Lake View, Carroll, and back to Arcadia. She loved fishing, bowling, and playing cards, and she also enjoyed traveling and cooking. Cecile is survived by two daughters: Shirley Bald (Duane) of Arcadia and Veronica Harris (Don) of San Diego, CA; nine grandchildren; fifteen greatgrandchildren; and a son-in-law: Boyd Lang of Tucson, AZ. Cecile was preceded in death by her parents, brother Vernon Sheldorf, her husband William in 1986, a son Ronald Andersen, and a daughter Myra Lang. Family graveside services will be held at a later date.
