Carolyn Marie Wade, age 43, of Carroll passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll with Rev. Dennis Bailey officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Friday evening where there will be a prayer service held at 6:30 P.M. The casket will be moved to the church at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Ellen Severin. Casket bearers will be her husband David Wade, her son Nicholas Wade, her brothers: Mark and Mick Jackson, and her half-brothers: Ryan, Brent, and Brandon Jackson. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Carolyn’s name and memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on January 16, 1972 in Bloomfield, IA, she was the daughter of Michael and Ruth (Sheils) Jackson. Her family lived in Centerville when she was born and later moved to California and Colorado. When she was a freshman in high school her family moved to Carroll. Carolyn graduated from Carroll High School in 1990. She attended college at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa where she earned a degree in liberal arts. She was married to David Wade on August 19, 1994 at First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown by her grandfather Rev. George Sheils. The couple made their home in Carroll where she worked for American Home Shield, West Central Coop in Halbur, and the Ar-We-Va School District. Carolyn attended Buena Vista University, along with working, and earned a BS in Education and was very close to completing her Master’s Degree in Psychology. She also graduated from the School of Lay Ministry of the United Methodist Church. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carroll where she did a great deal of volunteer work, served as a lay speaker in several churches, helped with communion, and helped to lay minister. Carolyn enjoyed life! She loved music, chasing her kids in all their activities, gymnastics, dance, the theater, cooking, choir, the outdoors, fishing, camping and helping in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Carolyn is survived by her husband David Wade of Carroll; two daughters: Rilka Celia Spieler of Philadelphia, PA, and Melissa Helen Wade of Carroll; three sons: Nicholas Robert Wade, Alexander Gordon Wade, and Gabriel George Wade all at home; her mother Ruth Jackson of Marshalltown; her father Michael Jackson and his wife Denise of Eddyville; her in-laws Gordon and Penny Wade of Carroll; two brothers: Mick Jackson (Laura) of Tulsa, OK, and Mark Jackson and his wife Rachel of Vail; three half-brothers: Ryan Jackson of Oskaloosa, Brent Jackson and his wife Gina of Eddyville, and Brandon Jackson and his wife Leah of Eddyville; and several cousins. Carolyn was preceded in death by her grandparents and a son Jason in infancy.
