Carol Ann Heller, age 81, of Carroll, IA, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 surrounded by her family.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church – St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll with Fr. Kevin Richter as Celebrant.  Music for the Mass will be by Kathy Halbur and Kathleen Macke.  Lector for the Mass will be Robin Heller.  Gift bearers will be Carol’s grandchildren.   Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.

Visitation will be held at Holy Spirit Church on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 9:30 – 10:15 A.M. prior to the Mass.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com.

Carol was born on December 22, 1940 in Sparta, WI, and she was the daughter of George and Ann Marie (Laurence) Wiedl.  She grew up in Norwalk, WI, where she graduated from high school.  She moved to Carroll to attend St. Anthony School of Nursing.  She was married to Bill Heller on August 6, 1960 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Norwalk, WI.  The couple made their home in Carroll where they raised their seven children.  Carol worked at St. Anthony Regional Hospital and the Carroll Health Center as a CNA.  She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish.  She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, playing Farkle, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.  Carol is survived by her seven children and their families: daughter Cheryl Heller of Colorado Springs, CO, son David Heller (Robin) of Phoenix, AZ, daughter Karen Lowman (Korbin Hass) of Manning, son James Heller (Dawn) of Carroll, daughter Barb Heller (Glen Cockrum) of Carroll, son Mark Heller (Beth) of Nevada, IA, and son Steven Heller (Jericho) of Nevada, IA; twelve grandchildren: Zachariah Heller, Ryan Lowman, Katie Lowman, Abby Heller, Reese Heller, Crystal Sabus, Eric Sabus, Mallory Heller, Annabelle Heller, Elias Heller, Jessica Walter, and Duke Heller; and two great-grandchildren Jack Lowman, and Zoey Heller.  Bill and Carol were also mom and dad to: Randy Heller of Arcadia, Patty Everett (Phil) of Topeka, KS, and Kathy Heller of Clay Center, KS.  Carol is also survived by a brother Richard Wiedl (Louise) of Onalaska, WI; two sisters: Patricia Miller of Sparta, WI, Virgene Wiedl of Norwalk, WI, a sister-in-law Marie Wiedl of Norwalk, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents George and Ann Marie Wiedl; her father and mother-in-law Joseph and Matilda Heller; a sister Mildred Wiedl; two brothers: Tony and Fritz Wiedl; in-laws: Donna Rae Joseph, Louise Hupp (Cecil), Maryann Lane (Marvin), Joseph Heller Jr. (Mary Lou), Ronald Heller (Rosie), Robert Heller, and Leonard Miller; a son Michael in infancy; and her husband Bill Heller in 2020.
