Carey Lee Huffman

Carey Lee Huffman, age 56, of Glidden, IA, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha due to injuries suffered in an accident near Carroll.

Private family services will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids with burial in the Union Township Cemetery near Coon Rapids.

Carey was born on December 16, 1969 in Rochester, MN, and he was the son of Larry Bauer and Cynthia Huffman. He grew up in Coon Rapids where he graduated from high school. He worked for a number of years at the Perry Pork Plant and the Minburn Chicken House. He later did landscaping and various jobs for a number of years including Warnke Construction. Carey was united in marriage to Angela Ayers on June 6, 1998 and to this union a son Jacob was born.

Carey had many hobbies and interests including kayaking, being outdoors as much as possible, music, and spending time out by the river. He loved sweets, flying drones, drawing and artwork, spending time with family and friends, and just being out on the boat with his buddy Scott, however, he did not care for crowds. He most recently lived with his aunt and uncle Stacey and Rick Lundy in Glidden, and they became a second mom and dad to him until the time of his passing.

Carey is survived by his son Jacob Huffman; his mother Cindy Besaw; two brothers Jerry Spaulding and Shane Spaulding; aunts and uncles: Dwight and Nancy Huffman, Mark Huffman, Jacky Huffman, and Rick and Stacey Lundy along with many other extended family members.

Carey was preceded in death by his father Larry Bauer; grandparents John and Philomena Hofbauer, Imogene Trimble and Virgil Huffman.
