Brian John Gute, age 47, of Carroll and formerly of Omaha passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 6, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Carroll with Rev. Cindy Johnson officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home after 5:00 P.M. on Thursday where there will be a prayer service held at 6:30 P.M. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Friday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on June 14, 1967 in Carroll, he was the son of Frank J. and Vi (Heuton) Gute. He grew up in Muscatine and graduated from Muscatine High School in 1986. He then attended AIB in Des Moines and earned an Associate Degree in Business. Most recently, Brian worked for Wesco Distribution in Omaha as a regional commodity manager. He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing with his daughters, hunting, motorcycling, and following NASCAR. Brian is survived by two daughters: Anli and Carli Gute of Omaha; his special friend Kayla Gute of Omaha; his parents Frank and Vi Gute of Carroll; a sister Beth Schmidt and her special friend Darrell Liechti of Carroll; a nephew Steven Schmidt and his wife Sarah of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Brian was preceded in death by his niece and Godchild Lauren Schmidt and Grandparents: Frank and Mary Gute and Clarence and Lorraine Heuton.
