Bonnie Lee Schug, age 86, of Carroll passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Sunnybrook in Carroll surrounded by her family. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll with Pastor Brian Licht officiating. Organist for the service will be Ellen Severin and soloist will be Mary Ross. Burial will be in the Lake City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday where there will be a prayer service held at 6:30 P.M. The casket will be moved to St. Paul Lutheran Church at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Bonnie’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Bonnie was born on February 22, 1932 in Lake City, IA, and was the daughter of Ernest and Viola (Davis) Schug. She grew up in Lake City where she graduated from high school in 1950. Following high school she worked for Carter’s Drug Store in Lake City for two years before moving to Carroll in 1952 where she worked at Spurgeons Department Store for seven years. She began working for Carroll County State Bank on April 1, 1960 as a proof operator and cashier. She worked at the bank for 42 years and retired in 2002. Bonnie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, bird watching, playing games and cards, and feeding the robins raisins in her back yard. Bonnie was a very kind and generous person. She had a close, loving, relationship with all of her nieces and nephews, and she loved to laugh and play with children. Bonnie is survived by three sisters: Betty Kolbe of Carroll, Wanda Schuneman (Richard) of Mankato, MN, and Dee Ann Pretty (David) of Moorhead, MN, and several nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Viola Schug and her good friend Linda Rettenmaier.
