Beverly Anne (Bryan) Flack was the third child of seven children born at home to S.E. and Muriel (Sailer) Bryan on the family farm in Greenbrier Township on March 6, 1926.  She attended Greenbrier #9 Country School that taught a total of 12 students.  When Beverly was a freshman in high school, the family moved to Dawson, lA, where she attended school through her sophomore year. She and her sister, Marjorie, stayed with their Grandma Sailer to finish out the year since their parents had moved to Bayard, IA. She then went on to graduate from Bayard High School in 1943.  In August, after graduation, she got on a train in Carroll, lA and traveled by herself to Portland, Oregon to live with her aunt and uncle, Ralph and Dorothy Merriam. She was there to help with their younger children. She said, "I was as green as could be" and the train was loaded with traveling servicemen.  Upon her return to Iowa, she worked at the Howard Theater (which only showed cowboy movies) and the lowa Theater in Jefferson selling tickets. Beverly also began working as a nurse's aide at the Greene County Hospital where she became friends with Doris (Drayer) Mundt who was renting a room from Mahlon and Natalie Flack. In October, Marvin came home from the Army where he had been serving as an MP in Japan, and she met him through her friendship with Doris.  Marvin was working delivering dry cleaning to Carroll and he told her he would give her a ride to her parents on his way. She rode with Marvin for the next 58 years.  Marvin and Beverly were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA, on August 24, 1947 with the life-long friends Frank and Shirley Drayer as their witnesses.  They began their married life in Jefferson where Susan and Karen were born in 1948 and 1950 respectively. In 1952, Marvin and Beverly started farming and moved to Scranton on a Fern Olive farm where in 1956 Barbara was born. The family moved to two other farms during the next decade and in 1962, their last daughter, Lisa, was born. During this time, Beverly was a stay-at-home mother, volunteered at school, became a member of the Progressive Neighbor's and Red Checkered Clubs, and joined Rebekah Lodge. She began work at the Greene County Hospital in 1959 and again in 1965 after a few years break. She remained employed as an Accredited Records Technician in the medical records department until her retirement.  The family moved to Scranton in 1963 where they lived for the next 35 years. With the family grown, their next move was to Jefferson where they enjoyed traveling and golfing in their retirement years. Beverly remained active in the hospital auxiliary, as one of the Heartfelt Quilters in Scranton, a member of the Ingleside and Heritage Clubs in Jefferson, and a hospice volunteer. During her life, she was a member of the Greenbrier and Providence Churches, the United Methodist Church in Scranton, and was a member of the United Methodist Women.

Beverly was very talented artistically. She was skilled at painting on canvas and china.

Beverly sewed and made quilts for all her children and grandchildren.

Beverly is survived by her daughters: Susan Robison of Yukon, OK, Karen (John) Lanzerotte of Carlinville, IL, Barbara (Dan) Horstmann  of Sutherland, IA, Lisa (Sam) Olaby of Ankeny, IA, 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her brother Neil Bryan of Stuart, IA; her sister-in-law Carmen Bryan of The Dalls, WA; and several nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Marvin in 2006; her parents S.E. and Muriel Bryan; her brothers: Harold, Alan, and Charles; her sister Marjorie McCormick; her son-in-law Rob Robison; and her sisters-in-law: Patricia and Betty Bryan.
