Betty Lee Willey, age 73, of Glidden passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at her home in Glidden. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Glidden with Fr. Timothy Johnson as Celebrant. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden after 4:30 P.M. on Thursday where there will be Rosary at 5:00 P.M. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 P.M. by St. Elizabeth Seton Parish. Music for the Mass will be by Mary Ross and Kathleen Macke. Lector for the Mass will be Deb Bruning. Gift bearers will be her grandchildren Christy Heisterkamp and Tim Willey. Casket bearers will be Dick Enos, Jeff Macke, Rick Bruning, Doug Brauckman, Ricky Bruning, Bo Bruning, and Denny Bruning. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Betty’s name and memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com. Born on December 18, 1941 in Chillicothe, MO, she was the daughter of Norbert and Viola (Krantz) Truhe. She grew up in Carroll and attended St. Lawrence school as a girl and Kuemper High School. Betty worked at Casey’s in Glidden, Fareway, and Hy-Vee. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Glidden. Betty enjoyed gardening, reading, and most of all being with her family. She is survived by two grandchildren: Christy Heisterkamp and her husband Eric of Glidden and Tim Willey and his fiancé Leah Dunn of Glidden; two sisters: Norma Enos and her husband Dick of Carroll and Rose Platz of Carroll; her daughter-in-law Renee Willey Carter and her husband David of Glidden; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Bill Willey in 2005 and Tim Willey in 1983, and a sister Wilma Bruning and her husband Ray.
