Betty Jane Bushman , age 80, of Carroll passed away on Tuesday, February 02, 2010 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Johnson as Celebrant. Gift bearers will be Cheyenne Bushman and Amber Bushman and Eucharistic Ministers will be Jane and Ed Griesel and Jolene Schultz. Music for the service will be by Holy Spirit Choir with Barb McDermott as organist. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home after 2:30 P.M. on Friday where there will be a rosary at 3:00 P.M. and a Christian Wake service at 7:00P.M. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Saturday to lie in state until the time of service. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Born on October 3, 1929 at Carroll, Iowa, she was the daughter of Albert J. and Margaret (Neuerburg) Sapp. Betty grew up in Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School in 1948. She was married to Robert Bushman on August 17, 1949 in Carroll. Her husband was in the Air Force and the couple lived in several different locations before moving back to Carroll. Most recently Betty worked as a secretary for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.) in Carroll. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll and she did volunteer work with R.S.V.P. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, quilting, spending time with her family, and making things to give to friends.
Surviving are a daughter Beverly Eaves and her husband Floyd of Arlington, Texas; a son Roland Bushman and his wife Joann of Coldwater, Mississippi; a son James Bushman and his wife Phyllis of Talihina, Oklahoma; a son Robert Bushman of Oregon; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; a brother Don Sapp and his wife Sonja of Bullhead City, Arizona; a sister Phyllis Oswald of Carroll; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1988, and a brother Albert Sapp Jr.
