Arnie was born January 24, 1946 on his family farm south of Coon Rapids; the son of Harry “Bing” and Clara (Gute) Lyons.  He grew up on the farm and graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1964 and then attended Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville, MO.  Following college, Arnie returned to Coon Rapids and farmed with his father.  He also worked for Ron's Plumbing and Heating with his brother-in-law, Ron Jacobsen.  Arnie was married to the love of his life Linda Kennebeck on October 27, 1984, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.  From this union, he gained two adoring daughters: Jodi & Kelli.  The family made their home in Jefferson for 23 years where he worked for Culligan water.  The couple moved back to the Lyons farm in 2007.  During retirement, he liked to stay busy working part-time jobs at Trausch Company in Audubon as a sheet metal cutter and enjoyed doing Census work.  Arnie never knew a stranger and loved to talk to everyone--some may have even called him "chatty".  Arnie loved to give people nicknames; in-turn, he was given many nicknames, but the most important names given to him were Dad, Grandpa and Papa Littleman.

Arnie and Linda enjoyed spending winters together in Arizona for four years and Hot Springs, Arkansas for two years.  Arnie and Linda enjoyed working in the yard, going on trips to the casino, traveling, watching football and wrestling, playing cards and spending time with family—especially their girls & grandchildren.  He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and L.A. Dodgers fan.

Arnie is survived by his wife Linda of Coon Rapids; two daughters and their families: Jodi Schroeder of Scranton and Kelli Hosenfelt (Matthew) of Carroll; four loving grandchildren: Quinten, Dylan, Kyra, and Kynli; a sister Karen Jacobsen (Ron) of Coon Rapids; a brother Paul Lyons (Donna) of Carroll; four sisters-in-law Pam Scanlan (Jim) of Denison, Angela Tuel (Tim) of Glidden, Brenda Vaughn (Tom) of Glidden, Lee Lyons of Grand Junction; and several nieces and nephews.

Arnie was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, and brother Jim Lyons.
