Arlys Fordyce

Arlys Doreen Fordyce, age 78, of Carroll passed away at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll on Saturday, November 8, 2008. Born on April 25, 1930 at Thief River Falls, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Harry and Mable (Sorensen) Ness. She grew up in Thief River Falls and graduated from high school in 1948. She was married to Gordon H. Fordyce on December 12, 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. The couple moved to Carroll in 1984. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Carroll. She enjoyed embroidering, dancing, fishing, watching sports, and spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband Gordon H. Fordyce of Carroll; a daughter Laureen Hollifield and her husband Mason of Grand Forks, North Dakota; a daughter Cynthia Gullicks and her husband Ronald of Duluth, Minnesota; a son Michael Fordyce and his wife Sandra of Dewitt, Michigan; a daughter Paula Yanish and her husband Wayne of Eaton, Colorado; a brother Curtis Ness and his wife Bonnie of Thief River Falls, Minnnesota; a sister Lois Johnson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; and three great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Loren Ness, a sister Mayvert Welton, a brother-in-law Dean Fordyce and a sister-in-law Dorothy Fordyce. A private memorial service will be held at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll at a later date.
