Angela Marie Long, age 90, of Coon Rapids, IA, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Select Specialty Hospital in Des Moines, IA.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Coon Rapids. Lector for the Mass will be Doug Long. Music for the Mass will be by Diane Slater and the Annunciation Choir. Casket bearers will be Kelly McLaughlin, Joe McLaughlin, Tim Long, Adam Long, Pat Fisher, and Steve Fisher. Burial will be in the Orange Township Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids after 5 P.M. on Friday where there will be a Christian Wake Service held at 6:30 P.M. The casket will be moved to Annunciation Catholic Church at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M. prior to the service.

Angela was born on July 25, 1935 in Carroll, IA, and she was the daughter of Anderson A. and Kathleen (Welsh) McLaughlin. She grew up in Coon Rapids where she graduated from high school in 1954. Angela was married to Phillip J. Fisher in 1958 and to this union four children were born: Phillip, Patrick, Steven, and Sarah. The family lived on a farm east of Carroll by the airport. Her husband Phillip passed away 1972 and Angela and her children moved to Coon Rapids where they lived with her mother. She worked at Thomas Rest Haven for 27 years. Angela was married to Maurice Long on August 18, 1978. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed watching sports. She was an excellent cook and was famous for her delicious pies. Most of all, she cherished her family who will miss her dearly.

Angela is survived by her husband Maurice of Coon Rapids; her four children: Phillip Fisher of Coon Rapids, Patrick Fisher of Coon Rapids, Steven Fisher of Madison, WI, and Sarah Hummel (Al) of Las Vegas, NV; her step children: Cindy Long of Atlantic, Douglas Long (Sheila) of Iowa Falls, and David Long of Rochester, NY; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law Helen Monthei of Audubon and Shirley McLaughlin of Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Angela was preceded in death by her parents Anderson and Kathleen McLaughlin; her in-laws Harold and Lois Long and Dean and Lola Fisher; three brothers: Neil McLaughlin, Robert McLaughlin, and Tom McLaughlin (Kate); a son-in-law Jerry Sponsel; in-laws: Jessie Olesen (Earl), Evelyn Olesen (Harry Jr.), Paul Long (Gladys), Melvin Long (Ann), Howard Long (Rose), Rich Monthei, Clayton Long, Nancy Lee Long.
