Andrew James Park, age 54, of Barnum, Iowa, and formerly of Scranton passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, June, 18, 2010 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Scranton with Fr. Steven McLoud as Celebrant. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton after 5:00 P.M. on Thursday where there will be a Christian Wake Service held at 7:00 P.M. by the parish. Gift bearers will be Andrew’s sisters Terri, Kathy, Trish, and Jan. Lector for the Mass will be Eldon Wright. Eucharistic minister will be Jan Morlan. Casket bearers will be Cody Renwanz, Tony Park, Kim Jubell, Nick Halterman, Logan Johnston, Zach Dettlinger, and Alex Gettler. Music for the Mass will be by Richard Carey. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery near Lidderdale.
Born on January 11, 1956 at Carroll, Iowa, he was the son of Robert and Carol (West) Park. He grew up in Scranton and graduated from Scranton High School in 1974. He was a chef in several restaurants following high school. Andy was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Scranton. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards, watching television, telling jokes, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his mother Carol Park of Scranton; a brother Jon Park of Barnum, Iowa; a sister Terri Renwanz (Bill) of Jefferson; a sister Kathy Guess (Eric) of Gross Pointe, Michigan; a sister Trish Monthei of Yale, Iowa; a sister Jan Kirschman of Ankeny, Iowa; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers: Steven and Michael, and two sisters: Julie Park and Mary Jo Halterman.
