Amy Jo O’Hara, age 50, of Carroll passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Swan Place in Carroll surrounded by her family.

Born on April 10, 1964 in Carroll, she was the daughter of Dennis and Loretta “Mickey” (Spieker) Bierl. She grew up in Carroll and graduated from Kuemper High School in 1982. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.S. in Business in 1986 and earned her Master’s degree in finance from Drake University in 1989. She worked for an accounting firm for several years in Des Moines. Amy enjoyed playing the violin and the piano and going on fishing trips to Canada with her Dad.
Amy is survived by her sons Tayler and Tanner O’Hara of Des Moines, her parents Dennis and Mickey Bierl of Carroll; two sisters: Kimberly Lambert and her husband Denny of Carroll and Jodi Kanne and her husband Scott of Carroll; two brothers: Kirk Bierl and James Bierl both of Kimballton; and several nieces and nephews.
Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents Ed and Teresa Bierl and Leo and Eileen Spieker.
