Amy Lynn Booher

Amy L. (Wright) Booher, age 46, of Carroll, IA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, August 19, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll with Rev. Terry Plocher officiating.  Music for the service will be by Nancy Davis. Casket bearers will be Amy’s class members of the Class of 1994.  Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll  from 5 – 7 P.M.  The casket will be moved to the First United Methodist Church at 9:30 A.M. on Friday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M. prior to the service.

Amy was born on September 17, 1975 in Des Moines, IA, and she was the daughter of Garry and Barbara (Singer) Wright.  Her family moved to Carroll when she was two months old.  She graduated from Carroll High School in 1994 and then attended Iowa Lakes Community College where she earned a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.  After college she lived in Cherokee where she worked a Happy Chef.  She moved to Spencer and worked at several restaurants and the Spencer Hospital.  While living in Spencer she had a daughter Faith. She moved to Nevada and worked at the Nevada Medical Clinic and then moved back to Carroll in 2004 and was employed at American Home Shield.   Amy was married to Jeff Booher on August 29, 2009 at their home in Carroll.  Amy enjoyed cheerleading, playing softball, and playing in the band in high school.  She loved to help other people and had a kind and generous heart.  Amy loved the holidays and decorating for Christmas.  She cherished time spent with her family, going for car rides, shopping, traveling, watching television, and following the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Steelers, and the Yankees.

Amy is survived by her husband Jeff Booher of Carroll; three daughters: Faith Wood (Guilherme Schwarz Mendez) of Ames and Jasmine and Claire Booher both at home; Jeff’s children: Kylar Booher of Ames and McKenize Booher of Larrabee; her mother Barb Wright of Carroll; her brother Mark Wright (Gina) of Cave Creek, AZ; her in-laws: Doug Miles of St. Louis, MO, Joseph Booher (Tammy) of Meriden, IA, Darla Buckendahl (David) of Alta, IA, and Brad Booher (Chrissy) of Sioux City, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends.

Amy was preceded in death by her father Garry Wright in 2010 and her father and mother-in-law Fred and Eva Booher.
