Aaron John Bauman, age 40, of Carroll passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at his home near Carroll surrounded by his family. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Carroll Church of Christ with Pastor Gale Juhl officiating. Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5-7 P.M. on Sunday. The casket will be moved to the Carroll Church of Christ at 9:30 A.M. on Monday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Music for the service will be by Brittany's high school teammates: Cassie Evers, Elyse Borchers, Brittany Holdsworth, Lisa Daringer, Ali Meiners, and Haley Stevens. Casket bearers will be Heath Kasperbauer, Cliff Kinkade, Marty Vanderheiden, Bruce Baumeister, Eric Boes, Eric Nagl, and John Feld. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on June 19, 1975 in Cherokee, he was the son of Terry and Janine (Wellendorf) Bauman. He grew up in Holstein and moved to Dedham when he was in 7th grade. Aaron graduated from Carroll High School in 1994. Aaron was a star CHS Football player and set, and still holds, many school records. He represented the Carroll Community in the 1994 Iowa Shrine Bowl. Following high school he worked for Jim Pudenz as a farmhand. He then worked for Klocke Trucking, Juergens Produce and Feed, and Twilight Services. Aaron was then a co-owner of Western Iowa Manure Pumping. He was most recently employed by E and F Custom Pumping. He was married to Michelle Underberg on June 5, 1999 in Carroll. Aaron enjoyed the outdoors, he spent many years hunting and fishing with his wife, daughter, other family members and friends. He loved spending time with his daughter on the softball field. They practiced pitching and batting most of the year, weather permitting. Aaron is survived by his wife Michelle Bauman of Carroll; his daughter Brittany Bauman and her fiancé Nicholas Shelton of Maryville, MO; his mother Janine Leckband and her husband John of Flemington, MO; his father Terry Bauman and his wife Sandy of Charter Oak; his step-mother June Anderson and her husband Greg of Panora; his maternal grandmother Alberta Wellendorf of Holstein; his paternal grandmother Rosie Bauman of Holstein; his mother and father-in-law: Harlan and Paula Underberg of Lidderdale; two sisters: Valeri Boswell and her husband Robert of Castle Rock, CO, and Terra Reha and her husband David of Stuart; three sisters-in-law: Jennifer Esslinger of Coon Rapids, Brandy Wuebker of Vail, and Samantha Sawyer and her husband Franklin of Coon Rapids; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Harlan Wellendorf and his paternal grandfather John Bauman.
