Funeral services for Tom Sullivan of Carroll will be Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Carroll, with interment at Carroll City Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 PM to 8 PM, with a Prayer Service at 7 PM at the Dahn & Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. The Huebner Funeral Home of Denison is in charge of arrangements. Thomas Joseph Sullivan was born January 21, 1941, the son of Maurice and Alice Finnegan Sullivan. He died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa at the age of sixty-seven. Tom was born in Dunlap, Iowa and received his education in the Dunlap Community School. After completing his education he worked at IBP in Denison, Huebner Trucking Company and the Crouse Cartage Company in Carroll. On June 16, 1962, he was united in marriage to Sally Huebner at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. The couple made their home in Denison for a short time before moving to Carroll in 1964. He was a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Tom also enjoyed traveling, fishing, scrap booking, reading and all kind of sports. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joann Dresen and her husband, Mac, and Rita Heffernan; one brother, Pat Sullivan; fathers-in-law, Ben Huebner and George Else; mother-in-law, Edna Else and two sisters-in-law, Darla Huebner and Mary Huebner. Survivors include his wife, Sally of Carroll; one daughter, Lisa Quandt and her husband, Tom of Carroll; one son, Tom Sullivan and his wife, Valerie of Ringgold, Georgia; four grandchildren, Paul Quandt and his wife, Mandy; Matt Quandt and his wife, Kandi; Brooke Quandt, all of Carroll; and Ella Kate Sullivan of Ringgold, Georgia; three great-grandchildren, Savannah, Cooper and Tommy Quandt, all of Carroll; three sisters, Mary Alice Baldwin and her husband, Fritz; Lorraine Weber and her husband, Bob, all of Dunlap; and Kathleen "Mike" Roane and her husband, Jack of Neola; two brothers-in-law, Ed Heffernan of Dunlap; Dale Huebner of Carroll; and one sister-in-law, Marlys Grell and her husband, Lyle of Fort Collins, Colorado; many other relatives and friends.
